Nothin' to see here, people, move along. Ok, if you insist on staying, atleast take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable. Once I get started...well, you could be here for a while. (Just ignore the typos. I do.) Yes, snacks are allowed as long as you share and clean up after yourself. Oh yeah, hey...if you happen to see my scissors around here, could you let me know. I could have sworn I had them right here a minute ago.

Another one goes down...
When I saw him I knew something was wrong. He was freaking out, hyper ventilating, shivering, shaky on his legs. I made him sit down on the stairs, while I got some ice for his swollen eyebrow and the the little bump on his forehead. His head was scratched by the little bump and so I cleaned that off and put some ointment on it, wrapped him in a blanket and sat on the stairs, holding one of the ice packs for him with one hand, rubbing his back with the other in an attempt to calm him down. The man was totally spooked. It was after 1 AM when he was finally in good enough shape to walk up the stairs and have his wits about him. This was a very bad time for Nancy to be away on business. Anyway, he thought he would be fine at this point but he decided that he wasn't taking anymore of that medicated drink.
I was so nervous about him going to sleep after banging his head but he said he was going to be OK. I didn't fall asleep for a long time after that. He slept in too which didn't help matters any. I was up at 6:20 AM, like normal to get Sam out the door by 7 AM and ofcourse the first thing Sam does is rat on his Dad for not drinking all of his bowel prep kit liquid. I had to tell him what had happened, but he didn't look to worried about it. Nancy called at 8:30 and I told her what had happened and she said she would call back at 9:30 before she went into court. I took a shower and when I got out, Cliff was in the kitchen. I dropped him off at the hospital at 10 AM for his procedure and then picked him up a little late at 12:25 because I couldn't get a parking spot in the 15 minute patient pick-up zone. I had to sign him out...which he was laughing about, saying "I have tried to get her to take responsibility for me for yearsssss, and this is what it takes! MAN!" Let me tell you, Cliff was in a jolly mood in the elevator while the nurse was walking him out. There were tons of nurses in the elevator with us and he turns to me and says...."Everyone was checking out my bumps and cuts, but don't worry, I didn't tell them that you were the one who knocked me around." To which I replied, "If you would learn to pick up you socks and put the toilet seat down it wouldn't happen." Then we both cracked up. They didn't seem to have the same sense of humor about it as we did. Hell, they probably thought it was true....who knows. Anyway, Cliff is upstairs sleeping again....all is peaceful in the world.

Boy goes BOOM in the night.
I was curled up in bed last night when I heard a really loud sound. It was somewhere between 1-1:30 AM. It startled me at first but then it was quiet so I figured something just slid or a picture fell. I wasn't so worried about it. Then this morning, Sam is telling me how he fell out of bed. I couldn't help it, I started laughing and told him I think I heard it. He was fine, didn't hit his nightstand or anything. he said he used to fall out of bed all the time and it has been a while since he has done it. I had to tell him about the time I fell out of bed when I was 4 or 5...I was dreaming that I fell off a cliff and I woke up just before I hit the ground in the dream, only to hit the floor for real. Then when I in second grade, I fell from the top bunk of our bunk beds and smacked my head on the rocking chair sitting next to the bed. That hurt like a...(insert naughty work here.) My Mom ran into my room to find me sitting on the floor rubbing my head. I remember how much that smarted. I think I knocked some smarts out of my head that night...ouchie.

The Anti Life list...by Netter

Everyone is making up Life lists. Sure they are a good idea, they are goals, there is nothing wrong with goals. I think it would be more fun to have an anti-Life list. I'm not talking a death wish...but a list of things you never want to do in your lifetime. Not to say that they won't happen, but they are things you don't want to do. So, here it goes, the beginning of my list:
I don't want to:
~stick my fingers or any other body part in moving fan blades
~cliff dive
~eat any type of rodent
~roller blade
~be strip searched
~have a cavity search preformed after a strip search
~smuggle any illegal supstances into the country, or any country...whether I know it or not.
~ shoot a living animal
~pass gas in an elevator
~shake GW's hand or be forced to have a conversation with him.
~break another bone
~put in contact lenses
~be in a plane when it crashes
~sing the national anthem at a sporting event...or sing anything in front of a crowd as far as that goes.
~commit fraud or anything like it...I can't do time in jail.
~become paralized from the neck down, become deaf or blind.
~go along with the crowd because it is the easy or cool thing to do.
~ever have to see or speak to three specific people again...ever. (I won't name them because it isn't nice...but I'm sure they know who they are)
~wet my pants while laughing in a public place.
~be on one of those weight loss shows. Have you seen the outfits they make those girls wear on The Biggest Loser? That is just wrong.
~give up crafts
~accidently inhale cream soda again, the first time was bad enough.
~stick the two prongs of a 9 volt battery to my tongue to see if there is any juice left in it.
~kill someone...you can't even tempt me
~go to a NASCAR race....EVER.
~push another car out of mud.
~eat anything that was profiled on Fear Factor
~own or wear a pair of shoes that velcro
~contract an STD
~fall on my butt in a public place...ever, ever, again. Twice in one year was enough for a lifetime
~eat liver
~go camping somewhere where I can't take a shower for a day or two....ewww.
~spray breath freshner in my eyes.
...and the list goes on and on....
Well, you get the idea. For everything that I want to do, there is a corresponding thing that I don't want to do. I'm not even writting down the really gross stuff tha tI don't want to do because I will make Raine gag when she reads it. I have a tendency to do that. Sooner or later I will get around to making a real "life list" but for now, the Anti-Life list will have to do.
What's this?!
I'm 80% normal

You are shockingly normal... and since normal doesn't really exist, that is kinda scary. In fact, you are scarier than the most abnormal person. Go you!

What a morning
Oh yeah, here is the funny part...remember how Nancys car service didn't show up, well on the way up our road, guess who we passed. Yep the guy in his Lincoln Town Car on the side of the road, with another car smooshed into him. It looks like the car service guy had pulled out into the side of a passing car. Very strange. Anyway, Nancy was on the phone with the car service telling them that she was going to miss her flight if she waited so she had a friend driving her.....as we pass the car service boo boo...and they are trying to tell her that she still has to pay for the pick up. So, she politely tells them that they will not be paid for services that were not rendered and that we just passed the driver who was in an accident. Needless to say, she doesn't have to pay for it.
Luckily, I hit zero traffic on the way home and I managed to get back in no time at all. I dropped off Cliffs prescriptions and made my phone calls for the day. Now I'm working on a post office run and a grocery list.

Time to redecorate the old fishbowl
I liked my butterflies but I grew tired of everything else on my site. So, I decided to switch my template to match my craft site design. I always liked it. This may not last long, but atleast my site loads faster. That is always good, isn't it.
I have not been in blogging mode, can you tell? I'm not sure what the deal is...but its not good. Anyway, there is nothing interesting going on around here. Sad but true. Plus I have not been in the mood to cut loose and tease anyone. So sad...but I am feeling a bit more perky. Good news for me...not so good news for those that I torture with my humor. Not to fear, Netter will be back soon.

Daily Horrorscopes

OK, what you don't know is that Thursday night I flipped out and started pulling my clothes out of my dresser drawers and closet in an attempt to de-clutter my living environment. I had reached my limit and couldn't take it anymore. I took every single stitch of clothes out and tossed it on the floor in the basement den. Basically because I could watch bad movies while torturing myself. I have been going through all my clothes, washing the stuff that I'm keeping and promising myself that I will wear again. We all know I'm kidding myself. I'm one of those people that only wear the same things all the time until they are stained and I have to trash them. Even then I decide they are house cleaning or painting clothes. I can't help it, I'm not about fashion...I'm about comfort. I now have a huge bag of good will clothes, a suitcase full of clothes to take to my Mom and Sister and a little extra space in my bedroom. OK, now after all of that I decided I couldn't stand looking at the mess I had in my large craft area. I had boxes of stuff, I had yards of fabric, I had paints, glues, beads, you name it...EVERYWHERE. I couldn't stand it one more minute so last night I created the biggest mess I have ever seen in my life. Let's face it, if you are going to clean...sometimes you have to make it look like a smart bomb went off just seconds ago, minus the fire and smoke. Yes, I created a bigger mess in the hopes that my sanity would return. Anyway, I knew that I had nothing going this weekend. The Leaches are off at a memorial service in Pennsylvania so I knew I wouldn't get a call from Jim to come over and be entertained by them. Yeah, so I planned yesterday to make my living space a pretty environment once again...or until I decide I need to be working on 5 projects at once.
Then I read that stupid horoscope column that I swear I don't believe in and now I'm starting to freak out. I think Jeraldine is watching me or something. She needs to spend more time in her can and not peeking in my windows, that is for sure! I'll call the cops on her ass if I ever catch her.
I loved those things!
Do you guys remember Fashion Plates? I don't know what made me think of these now. They were mix and match sets of raised clothing drawings that you put a piece of paper over and then rubbed a black crayon over. It formed a fashion model that you could color and if you wanted to, you could get creative and make paper dolls with it. My sister and I had these things. I friggin' loved them. I 'm sure that I single handedly destroyed half the rain forest by making fashion plate dolls. I'm not proud of that fact, but hell if you are going to destroy the earth, you better have fun doing it.I remember seeing them in my closet a few years ago. That was before Mom and Dad moved to the new house.....so who knows where they are now. We better still have those puppies. I think I will have to search for them when I am home for the baby shower. Yeah, like I will have time to look for stuff. I have work to do when I'm home. I'll look over Christmas.
I love the bedding my sister picked out for her babies room. It's not to girlie ...its just right. If she is ever able to get preggers again, she will be able to use it for a boys room, not a bad deal. Tisha is an elephant lover, Dewey loves all animals, so its perfect, a whole circus theme. That is what Life is after all...a big old circus.I actually found it for her and sent a link so she could check it out. She actually liked it. We are as different as night and day so it was a real shocker for me that we could agree on anything.
Anyway, I bought the crib set for her shower. I figure since Auntie Nett can't be there all the time, at least the baby should be put to sleep on something that I bought it. It's my way of saying...REMEMBER ME...I'm out of sight but not out of mind. Clever, huh. Yeah, I'm sneaky that way. They have a toddler bed set too....I'm thinking of purchasing it and putting it away for the future.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Well, its my Mom's 59th birthday. Yeah, I just blabbed her age. She can't lie about it now that she is going to be a Grandmother. Just like Aunt Vickie is 61.....lol......snicker, cackle, snort.....just kidding. She's 62.....hehehehe. Ok, Ok, she isn't.
Anyway, its Mom's birthday...and she reminded Dad about it so he has no excuse if he wakes up and forgets about it in the morning.

It's a sign...
Cindy said...
Where or where has our Netter gone?
Oh where oh where
could she be?
With her hair so red
and her tales so long
Oh where oh
where can she be?
Thursday, September 28, 2006 8:33:01 PM
Yeah, perhaps that means I need to start blogging again. It is strange for me to go for so long without my daily blabbing. Normally I leave several posts each day. I just have not been in the mood. I promise to try harder.

How you know you are loved...
katies1sexymofo [3:18 PM]: I just want my Netter to feel better
Then you know you are loved. It has something to do with the "my" before your name. You have been claimed. For the record, I'm still feeling icky but my tummy doesn't hurt anymore.
By the way...thanks Katie!

What's the world coming to?!
Seriously, there must be something wrong with the world when you can't find a card for the soon to be "Aunt." They have cards for the expectant parents, grand parents and Great Grandparents, even siblings but nothing for Aunts. What the hell! I'm probably more excited than just about anyone else....don't you think they should make a card at Hallmark for people like me? I'm going to have to write a letter to rectify this situation. It's just wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Damn it, I deserve a card for all the hard work I'm going to put into spoiling that baby rotten. For crying out loud, this is just pathetic. I mean, if you think of all the money I spend at Hallmark, you would think that company would be asking me what projects I would like them to think about spending some time on. I may have to boycott them. That'll teach 'em to forget about poor sweet Aunties to be.Of course, even if they did make such a card, my problem would be getting someone suckered into buying the thing and actually sending it to me. It seems so hopeless.

Hehe...well, you know its going to happen. Heck, Moms and Dads are blogging about their kids all over the world and its only a matter of time before children find out about it and taunt one another with that knowledge. It's bound to happen. Heck, I already blog about my parents so they can be teased....lol. Thank goodness my Mother doesn't have a blog. She'd be posting about how I have driven her absolutely nuts over the last couple of weeks with nightly hour phone calls. At this point, she is sick of my voice. Hehehe....yeah well, that is part of the hardship that falls upon you when you give birth to a daughter who likes to blab. My family memebers are not phone people, that is a fact that I am willing to live with but only because I don't have a choice in the matter. It sucks, but then again, I know they are ranting that I'm a phone person and they can't stand it. So anyway, let's hope my Father never learns to run a computer. I won't be safe from the torture that will insue. I know him, he will make stuff up.

I was right....I just knew it!

Well, I had a gut feeling and once again I was right to be worried. I spoke to on of her other friends, who told me that Stephie had contracted spinal meningitis in mid August. She has been in the hospital for quite sometime and is now home, learning to walk again. I'm assuming that I tried to call her the other day when she was at the hospital having another MRI. She's never been great about returning calls anyway. I just got a hold of her a little bit ago, and couldn't talk long because I woke her up from a nap, so I let her go and will call again later.
You know, by now, I know that if Steph disappears off the face of the earth, its not a good thing. That is when I have to start calling everyone she knows to see what the deal is. I swear, that girl has more bad luck when it comes to her health than anyone I know. My sister gives her a run for the gold, but Steph takes the prize every time. I'll keep you posted, say a prayer for her.

I'm starting to freak out...

The diaper wreath is a work in progress....
Ok, I have had a diet Pepsi and the caffeine has not kicked in. I may have to toss back a second one...I'm dragging here. I've got a bunch of stuff to do and no energy to do it with. I was thinking about writing out the invitations for the shower but I'm to tired and will make mistakes. The envelopes are done, except for one address that I need to get. I'm working on the directions and misc info that I need to enclose. All that fun stuff. I suckered Aunt Vickie into being the RSVP call person.....hehehe...but it makes sense, Deanna's answering machine is off or full half the time, I never receive my messages half the time...coughcliffcough...and it drives me crazy. Things are moving right along.
I created a list of projects that I want to get done before Christmas. Holy cow it is a long list....so I think I will have to revise my thinking. I do want to make a special tree skirt for Tisha though. It starts out kind of plain but each year you trace the childs hand and then embroider around it with the date on the palm. I think I want to start with Tisha and Dewey's hands together so the form a heart with their pointer fingers and thumbs, then I can put the babies hand inside of the "heart." I don't know, I think it sounded cute. Speaking of my sister....she has her sonogram today and we will find out if the baby is a girl or not...well, atleast 100% know, instead of the 90% the doctor gave the ultra sound. I know its a girl...I have from the very beginning. However, even if we are wrong....I can always take the girlie stuff off of the wreath and slap some blue stuff on there. I've thought it out already. Plus, Marla is preggers and Crystal is working on it...so odds are that they might have a girl too. Either way, It's all good.
I'm off...things to do....later gators!
Susanne and Troels
I was so happy to recieve an email from Susanne yesterday. I missed her wedding last May in Denmark. She sent me a quick email, catching me up on what she is up to and how they are doing. They moved to Switzerland shortly before their wedding and I'm sure it has been a whirl wind 6 months. I'm hoping that Ylenia contacts me again soon so I can put them in touch with one another again. The are living much closer now and I'm sure Susanne will be overjoyed when she hears Ylenia had a baby girl in May. It sure explains why we have not heard from her.

From the mouth of babes and outta the pieholes of adults...

I called my little cousin Skeeter the other day. For the record, she is 10 but she is our youngest first cousin(There is a 30 year span)...she had a birthday on Sept 6th. I wanted to see if she got the birthday present I sent her. Actually I knew the package arrived but nobody called me to let me know if she liked it and if it arrived in once piece. So, she tells me how much she liked it and how she had wanted it...and that she wanted the green scooter too. Perhaps that was a Christmas hint, hard telling with Skeeter. Anyway, we are chatting away and she asked me when Tisha was going to have the baby. We chatted about that. Then she asked me when I was coming home again. She doesn't know I'll be at the baby shower....shhhh, its a surprise, she's going to Omaha and then picking me up from the airport. Anyway, I told her I would be home for Christmas and that the baby would be there by then. Skeeter was happy to hear that and she said she told her friend she couldn't go to her birthday party in November until she found out when I was coming home. Strange, but cute. Then out of the blue she asked me if I was ever going to get married. I said, who knows....maybe someday. She said, "Good, I want you to." I asked her why and she said, "I don't know, I just do." I said, "Alrighty then, Skeeter McGee." She just giggled.
I'm trying to figure out if she heard her Mother talking about me or if she came up with that one on her own. It's really hard telling, knowing those two. I thought it was bad enough when years ago...Shannon told me I needed to have a baby....to which I replied, let me find a husband first. She told me just to get drunk and go the bar. WHAT THE! JEZ....I mean really! There hits a point in your life that you would think that adults wouldn't do this kind of stuff to you too.....but they are as bad as the kids. "When are you getting married, when are you having kids.....blah, blah, blah." No the adults are worse than the kids. Adults should know better than ask questions like that. If its going to happen, it will, if it doesn't, oh well. I mean, in a perfect world, I would have met the right guy years ago, had a couple of kids ect, ect. However reality is that it hasn't happened and I'm not upset about it. It's my life and I have a lot of great feelings about my life. A husband and a couple of kids are not a giant void that cause me to spend sleepless nights fretting over it. I've gotten the old "Tick, Tock, the old biological clock is ticking" crap, from people....many many times. It gets old. I'm already preparing myself for the onslot when I fly home for my sisters baby shower. Yep, and when I'm home at Christmas, hogging my little baby neice...or nephew, but I think its going to be a girl.....I'll get the same comments. I'm going to take a deep breath and walk away muttering, "If it will make you happy, then never." I can be nasty and annoying too.
