You are a sweetheart Darlene! I have a little something for you, I'll pop it in the mail sometime next week. Don't get to excited. It takes ffffffooooorrrreeeevvvveeeerrrr for packages to reach you guys. Why is that? Hmmmm.
Nothin' to see here, people, move along. Ok, if you insist on staying, atleast take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable. Once I get started...well, you could be here for a while. (Just ignore the typos. I do.) Yes, snacks are allowed as long as you share and clean up after yourself. Oh yeah, hey...if you happen to see my scissors around here, could you let me know. I could have sworn I had them right here a minute ago.

I must have been tired...
My alarm went of this morning, I stumbled out of bed, dragged my feet to the bathroom. After doing my morning business transaction, if you know what I mean, I went to wash my hands and instead of squirting soap on my hand, I squeezed toothpaste on it. I stood there trying to figure out what felt wrong about the situation before it dawned on me. I then started laughing like a demented fruitcake. I'm happy to report that the little laughing fit, woke me up from my morning fog.
Ahhh...its going to be one of those days. I can tell already.

Happy Birthday Katie!
Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday, dear KATIE...
Happy Birthday to youuuuu....
My Ka-Ka has turned 20. Sigh!
She was a shy little 4 year old when I became her nanny, all those years ago.
I suddenly feel old.
Really old.
You know, like the old ladies that used to come up to you, pat you on the head and say, "I remember you when you were "THIS" big!" and they hold their free hand at their knee caps. Sigh...
My wish for Kaitlin Rose... besides the obvious birthday advice of not drinking to much... Good health, Great friends, Wonderful adventures, and that she will enjoy all the little things in life that so many of us overlook.
Hugs! Kissers! Can't wait to hear about how you celebrated your first day out of your teens! Oh, and I mailed your presents yesterday...so they will be a little late. Watch out for a box and a mailing tube.

Why I love Katie soooo...
She's so funny. Katie made an early birthday present for herself. Yes, she made a self portrait t-shirt. She could have bought 50 for $750.00. I told her all her friends and relatives could have sported a Beefy Katie shirt. I might have to make a couple shirts of my own as jokes. Mnnnn birthdays are coming up, family reunions, hmmmm. She said all you have to do is google "make a shirt." Go on, you know you want to..

I'm so excited!
My wonderful cyber friend Miyon, is a very talented digi scrapper. She created a set of freebies and named them after me. I just love them, they are so cute! YES, ME! She named them after me! I know! How exciting and sweet is that! You have to stop by and visit her. Send some good will her way.
Can someone explain this to me?
For the love of....
This is the strangest thing I have ever seen in my life. Seriously. I talked to the fence installers and they have never done a job like this in all the years they have been putting up fence. It's so bizarre. There are three different types...completely different types of fence in my neighbors back yard. It was ALL put up by the same company at the SAME time. It's how the neighbors wanted it done. I mean seriously, its strange...and they have the corner house so it looks like crap. Take a looksie..
Uh, yeah...and our porch sits up high, so this is the view we get if we look up the street like we are waiting for someone to show up. I know they put a big sliding gate on the side but there is no reason they couldn't have used the same wood fence on both sides of the corner. Dear Lord its ugly like that. Here, if you can't see the details of the THREE FENCES...I'll post better views.
Seriously...am I the only one that this bothers? Now the funny part is that the block grid topped fence in the second picture runs all the way along the side of our house. Then when it gets to the back where the view for the bay starts, they put up the black metal see though stuff again. Yeah, when they did it, they took out these BIG old, lovely shrubs and Cliff about had a stroke. Of course there was nothing that he could do, because it was all on the negihbors side of our the short fence. They were totally trying to get the view of the bay, which I can't blame them but its going to bite them in the butt. Cliff already has plans to plant some large bushy shrubs that will take over and completely block it off. Things are going to get interesting around here soon. I'll keep you posted.

You trade in your normal snack and they give you one of their three samples. I thought I would spread the word. So visit kashi.com and get your FREE SNACK delivered to your home.

My Grand Prize!
I know I have not been blogging. I know I thought I would get on the ball once Sam started school. Ha! I have contractors and delivery men calling my name just as I sit down and my creative juices are just starting to drip. By the time I am done getting them light bulbs or signing stuff or telling them where they left things, the blogging juices are dried up. Once we have a function kitchen again and the house is clean and organized, I'll feel more at ease. Until then, fear not...I LIVE.
I have some ideas for altered jewelry that I am tossing around. I can't wait for the fall to settle in on us. I should have time to work on all the stuff that I have been dreaming up. I think I need to go through my stuff first and pitch or give away all the art supplies that I know I will not be using. Sooner or later, I has to be done. Maybe I will post stuff and if people want it, they can leave a comment, then I can draw the winners name out of a hat. It's an idea.
I started sanding the dresser that I am going to refinish but that was before the guys piled all their tools and supplies in the garage. I can't get to it to sand...so that is on the back burner.
I'm not keeping up with blogs the way I should either. I have not forgotten you. I try to leave comments when I can. I at least try to read them. I'll be better, I promise.
OHHHH, the neighbors cut down all the shrubs and trees on the property line. Cliff about had a stroke. Then the put up a fence. WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THIS! OMG. You won't believe what they did. I'm not saying anything else, not until I take pictures....lol. OH, and Doctor Ray is getting married this weekend. Yeah the stupid neighbor who gets his boat stuck in the same sandbar, over and over. I'm still not sure what the story is there, but this is going to be interesting. I have not met his future wife, but I heard she is very nice and seems to be very nice.
Raine is back from Nebrasky...I get to see her this weekend. It's always so nice to see her, but our visits are never very long. She's so busy and I completely understand, but I still miss her. I just keep telling myself, that its quality not quantity that matters.
OMG, guess who I spoke to tonight...BRANDY! She had a pretty bad day, poor thing. It was so lovely to finally put a voice to the blog. I was chatting with her hubby Jeff but had to cut and run because I had been sitting on the bulkhead and a boat came up to the dock and needed directions. It was low tied and he wanted to know how to get back to get back to East Rockaway and he didn't know where the channel was. I had to tell him to NOT cut across and go back the way he came in or he would be stuck in Doctor Rays' favorite sandbar. Then I told him how to get around the point, but after the clam bar, I didn't know the way. I hope they made it, it was pretty dark. I'll have to call Brandy back in a few days. She's such a sweetheart and so easy to chat with. It felt like I'd known her my whole life.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about that...
What kind of yarn are you?

You are Mohair. You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with others, doing your share without being too weighty. You can be stubborn and absolutely refuse to change your position once it is set, but that's okay since you are good at covering up your mistakes.

Where did he put the cage?

I've been sleepwalking again. I did it when I was home on vacation and opened the curtains, shut off the ceiling fan, threw some yarn on the floor in the bedroom, and opened a paint pen and sat it on the piano. I never did find the package that it had been in. I have a strange feeling that it is in one of my parents closets.
Well, I know I was sleepwalking last night to. I woke up while I was strolling around the basement looking for a raccoon that was supposed to be in a cage. ??? Yes, I know that is what I was looking for because I was looking out the patio door when woke up and found myself saying, "Where did he put that raccoon? That cage should be around here somewhere." That is when I cocked my head sideways and thought to myself..."WTF am I talking about?!" It took me a few seconds to realize where I was standing and to figure out how to get back to my bedroom. This was at 4:16AM. Now I feel exhausted.
Last week, I think I had been strolling in my sleep too. I had changed the times on my alarm clock so that both alarms would go off in the afternoon, instead of the morning, thus I overslept. I know I had to have done it in the middle of the night because I remembered checking the alarm and setting it before I went to bed. I didn't have to switch the time because it was set at the normal time I get up, 6:45AM. and the second alarm was set at its normal time, 7AM. Some how, I had switched them to 3:36PM and 5:08PM.
I'm not enjoying these nighttime strolls, not one bit. I'm not sure what I can do to put an end to it though. Perhaps I should do some research on the matter.

Oh Dear Lord, NOOOOOO!
Sam agreed to watch the neighbors dogs while they were in Hawaii, celebrating Paula's 50th birthday in the 50th state. They have friends spending the night to keep the dogs company but from 7AM to 7PM they need to be let out. The dogs are used to going to work with Paula and Jeff so they are used to the interaction and the frequent potty breaks.
Sooo, Sam decided to go with his Mom to take care of his 7 month old niece for the week. Than means I get to, nope HAVE to watch the dogs. Now, don't get me wrong, Marley and Lola are great girls and I would never add to pre-trip jitters by leaving them high and dry for a day time dog sitter. I go over every couple of hours, give them some attention, check their water bowls, let them out to do their business, pet them until my arms want to fall off. It all sounds pretty fun, right. WELL, Miss Marley must have wolfed down her food this morning because when I got there, she was acting funny. I thought maybe she just missed her Masters. WE are in the kitchen, heading to the back yard and suddenly she starts making a funny sound, I turn just in time to see her blow chunks all over the floor. OMG, I get to clean dog barf. Not a little bit either. Nope, a whole mother load of puke. Not to fear, I checked on Marley several extra times this morning and she was back to her old self, running around like a nutcase.
All I have to say is Sam owes me for this one. OWES ME BIG TIME. You just know that the dog won't hurl while he's taking care of it. Nope, she saves the fun stuff for old Netter.
I left a note for Bill and Judy, the night time sitters. I wouldn't let anyone walk blind into a barfing dog situation. A heads up is only fair, don't you think.
**Note** Still no dog pictures because the pictures won't download. I'm working on it. Give me a couple of days.

What animal would I be?
| You Would Be a Pet Rabbit |
![]() Playful and hyper, you enjoy being around other people... as long as everyone's having fun. You are easily bored, and you almost always need some sort of entertainment. If you're not keeping busy, then you're apt to get in some sort of trouble! Why you would make a great pet: You're very entertaining, even when you're not trying to be Why you would make a bad pet: Well, personal hygiene isn't exactly your thing... you kind of smell sometimes What you would love about being a rabbit: Playtime... and eating flowers What you would hate about being a rabbit: Being held like a toy |
OK, I'm totally taking offense with the smelly part. I shower, I bath, I groom...really I do.
My latest purchase
Hehe! Look what I bought myself on Ebay. I friggin love it. You know, we Nebrasky gals sure are a handful. Listen, you have to make your own fun when you live in farm country. Fun usually involved, booze and mischief. I was going to show it to Raine but I was afraid she would try to outbid me. You have to be fast when dealing with Raine cause she's sneaky and quick.

My favorite!
Everyone knows that I'm a big fan of Jane Austen. I love her novels...expecially, Sense and Sensibility(1811), Pride and Prejudice(1813), Mansfiled Park (1814), and Emma(1815). I'm a push over for the time period, though I am very happy that I wasn't a women back then. Let's face it, I'm a bit to headstrong and verbal to have lived a decent life in the early 1800's. Women didn't have legal rights to inheriate property and let's face it, I would have been considered an old maid at an even earlier age than I am now. I love the clothing though. What I wouldn't do to look fetching in a gown from that time period. That is why the movies are eye candy to me. Anyway, I took this little quiz and I thought I would share it with you.
Take the Quiz here!

Taryn Joy came home....
My parents neighbors had a baby girl July 17th. She wasn't due until the end of August, but there were circumstances that called for a C-section. I won't go into all the details but Little Taryn has gone through a lot in her short little life. Her Mommy(Megan) and Daddy(Jesse) had to prepare themselves for the worst several times. Luckily, Taryn is a fighter. She's home now, but she still has a trachea tube and she has a lot of machines to safe guard her until she is stronger. I'm really jealous because my Mom got to see Taryn the other day and I have to wait until Christmas. I'm sure in a few short years, Taryn and Rue will be running around the yard, keeping Taryn's Daddy and Rue's Papa busy chasing after them. I'm thinking about making Taryn a granny square blanket. That is if I can get my Mom talked into hooking them all together for me. Hehe....Oh, Mommmmm!

MIA
I have not been posting. I know, I know. What's a gal to do. I promise I will start up again. I have lots of things to blog about. Let's face it, I always have something to blab about. I've been going through craft stuff and thinning out my stash of junk. I started sewing again. I have a lot of things planned but we have to see how long this lasts.

Mom's new pillows...
While I was home, Mom and I finally were able to work on the photo pillows that we had planned on making for her sofa last Christmas. What can I say, time flies when you are home. I even left before the were completely done. I had pinned them on the pillows but Mom had to tack them down. She sewed the ribbon together, I did the corners and made her sew them too. So basically, all I did was run off the pictures and line stuff up. Mom did all the hard stuff. lol....She loved every minute of it. (She will deny this, but I was there...I KNOW!) Anyway, I'm the baby on her right...and Tisha is the baby on her left in the purple outfit. We were cute little boogers.
Auntie An......
Rue ran out of e's,n's,and t's. But its nice to know that she misses me and is thinking about me. OK, so her Grammy or Mommy helped her with the spelling but that doesn't mean she wasn't thinking of me. Heck, she was crying today and heard my voice on the phone and stopped crying to listen to me talk. Yeah, I still have the touch.
Hehe...
I was checking out my cousins daughters sites and I came across this gem of a picture. That's my Cousin Mike...Danielle's Uncle. Mike's a big guy but he looks so small on that swing. He also looks like he didn't want the picture taken but who knows, it could have been staged. I just thought it was a cute picture and I had to share it. I'm not sure why Cindy (Mike's Sister...my other cousin) didn't post it on her site. Perhaps their were threats involved. Who knows. I was able to visit with Mike while I was home. I'm hoping he's at Christmas this year....because the time flew.

Reflections on shopping
Rue's first Bikini
I had to do it. I bought Rue Rue her first bikini. It's so darn cute on its own but when you put it on Rue....OMG, she's like a mini movie star. I think her sunglasses really put the icing on the cake. She didn't know what to think of her pool the first time she was dipped into it but it didn't take long for her to fall in love with it. She laughed and played for quite a while. We pulled her out before she turned into a prune.
Now whose keeping me company?!
