I friggin HATE remakes of classic songs.
Did I say HATE....yeah, it annoys the living crap out of me.
For goodness sake, write something new, be creative.
Stop...I say again, STOP, before I'm forced to dislike anything you do in the future because you have tainted yourself with a remake.
Case in point.
I usually like Chris Daughtry. BUT...
The fool has a remake of Foreigner's classic, Feels Like The First Time.
Chris, Chris, Chris...no, no, no. Maybe if you just sang and didn't go so over the top. I mean seriously it was a tad bit over indulgent. Gag.
I'm so disappointed.

I know what you mean! I heard the Pussycat Dolls remake of Duran Duran's 'Rio', and I wanted to throw my glass at the TV.

Sadly, I have to agree with you. I WAS a huge Daughtry fan until I went to one of their concerts. I tried to forgive a few flat notes on the first song but came away sadly realising that what I have on my Daughtry cd is studio manufactured and truthfully most of his choruses were embarrasingly flat and screechy. Perhaps I was able to forgive that but truthfully Chris the Foreigner song just ended my love affair with you for good !!
You know what I really hate? DANCE remakes of classic songs!
I agree with DH --- can't stand dance remixes. Rock songs, especially, have a definite, easily felt beat. People don't need the boom-boom-boom-boom of the remix.
What I do find amusing/disconcerting is when I hear hard rock or revolutionary songs as elevator music. Some of those anti-establishment rockers must be rolling over in their graves.
Sorry you were disappointed with the Daughtry concert. You're only one of a few that feel that way! As far as FLTFT, this was done for the League of First Time Voters with the full support of Foreigner.
Agreed, it's not American Idol anymore - he can sing something original.
