Cross stitch update...

I managed to make a few more X's. Bit by bit, they start to look like something, don't they. I wait until the end to do all the back stitching outlines. I hate that part but it is the most important part on a project like this.
I keep looking at the afghan that I am making for Bunny Rue Rue and I can't bring myself to working on it. Basically because I don't know how to join the granny squares together. I have ideas, I just have to decide which of those ideas are worth trying first. I'm going to be frogging left and right. So, until I have the energy, I will occupy myself with projects like this one. You know, ones that have sat in my craft clutter forever. It's still fun.

I'm with you on the not being able to join granny squares.

The cross stitch is looking very good. Your working at a very fast pace, Netter. Cross stitch is soooo slow.
Does anyone close to you crochet? Sometimes it's more fun to get a buddy to yarn with.

Kare~ I'm not lucky enough to have anyone close to me that is into crochet or knitting. My Mom and Sister are both in Nebraska...a nice distance from NY. Anyway, my friends out here are not into the fun stuff. It's sad really. I learn best by watching someone else do something...but I did find a yarn store the next town over and I want to see if I can make some pals over there.

I'm pretty quick at cross stitching. I like to do the outlind and the fill in always goes faster that way. I have not done it in so long. I want to finish this little guy..then move on to the two special things I have planned for friends.

Hi Nett
Make all your squares, then send them to your mother to join and the afghan will be from both of you. Hey Millie didn't you say you needed another project? lol

Joining grannies is no fun. But your cross stitch looks like lots of fun!

Yeah, right, Carole!!! I have enough of my own little projects that have been submerged in the closet and forgottten temporarily that I need to get out and work on... and idle time is limited right now... I have Rue ususally 3-4 nights a weeks.. that really cuts down on project time..

I'm just finished up a quilt this week, but I've got the cross stitch bug. I want to start something new really bad.

That's so cute! Are you a penguin collector?

Peg~ Nope, I don't collect penguins. I ended up with this cross stitch a few years ago. I got it in an after Christmas sale. I'm always up for a good deal. It is kinda cute, isn't it.

DH~ You finished a quilt! I'm green with envy right now.
