Nothin' to see here, people, move along. Ok, if you insist on staying, atleast take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable. Once I get started...well, you could be here for a while. (Just ignore the typos. I do.) Yes, snacks are allowed as long as you share and clean up after yourself. Oh yeah, hey...if you happen to see my scissors around here, could you let me know. I could have sworn I had them right here a minute ago.

A trip to the library
While I was home, Mom and I made a special trip to the Pawnee City Nebraska Public Library. This place held a lot of special memories for me because I spent a lot of time in there as a little girl. I checked out the books that they had for sale and found a book that I remember quite fondly. It was about a grey cat that was everywhere....so I bought it for 25 cents. I can still remember Mom sitting on the from porch of the house reading me that book and a ton of others. I think my years in that house across from the library were some of my happiest, they must be, my memories from that time are so extremely strong. We lived in the house across the street at the time which is shown here and this is the view of it from the steps of the library. Anyway, Mom wanted to look up some birth announcements from the local papers which are now on micro film at the library. While we were messing around in the pre 1965 archives we were told that the post 1965 papers were still in the library but were going to be sent out to be converted to micro film. They were stacked in the basement on some of the old tables that sat upstairs when my Mom was a kid. We really didn't need anything from those papers but I was getting restless and my mind started spinning. I figured my birth announcement would be in them for 1970 and my sisters for 1973 and ofcourse they were. On the top of one of the stacks they showed a kindergarten class for 1970 and I started thinking about when I was a kindergartener myself. I remembered being lined up for a class picture for the paper so we looked in the 1970 August papers and found the picture. I remembered all the children in that class except one. I kind of feel bad for not remembering her because Mom said she knew I played with her. The poor thing was not very memorable, I guess and I have a great memory for people from when I was quite young. Oh well!

Well, maybe you didn't forget after all... Jeesh!!! Better get my apples in a row, as the saying goes!!!
My Dear Wacko Mother! Ofcourse I brought the pic with me....Hay, Hay, Hay. Sheesh, I would have called you already and bothered you about that if I hadn't.
What a great stroll down memory lane!
Thanks Sue, I did love living in that house. I was very sad to find out that they removed the wall between the living room and the den and closed off the walk through closet. Oh well, I still have a mental view of it.
