Nothin' to see here, people, move along. Ok, if you insist on staying, atleast take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable. Once I get started...well, you could be here for a while. (Just ignore the typos. I do.) Yes, snacks are allowed as long as you share and clean up after yourself. Oh yeah, hey...if you happen to see my scissors around here, could you let me know. I could have sworn I had them right here a minute ago.

My new friends...
We have been invaded. In all the years that I have lived here, I have never seen a single water fowl in our yard...until the other day. I was standing in the kitchen when I saw Mr and Mrs Waddle Duck taking a stroll around the yard in search of a meal. The were so darn cute. I went out side and they tried to ignore me for as long as possible...then they flew into the bay. Well, yesterday after I had taken the power washer to the pavilion and before I trimmed the grape vines, I noticed I had company again. Can you see them in the shade? They were taking a little nap. I was actually able to get a little closer before I startled them. I backed off and they tucked their little bills back into their feathers and finished their nap. Cliff told me not to feed them or we will have duck doo doo all over the back yard. Personally, I want to feed them and keep them around for a while. They are so darn cute. I just love ducks....who can resist something that waddles?

Duck doo doo is probably just as bad as goose doo doo!! If you hate the green stuff on your deck, etc, you will definitely hate the duck doo doo. We had those stupid Canandian Geese in Pierre and living by the Missouri River just gave us loads and I mean loads of goose doo doo in the lawn and all over the sidewalks. Was not safe or smart to walk outside barefoot.
Thank god, we only rented an apt. so the manager had to clean the walks. If he missed a day, it was terrible.. But I do kind of miss Pierre. It was a nice town, except for the geese...
They're adorable!! I'd welcome them, duck poo and all.
I want them to take up year round residence...but I know that can't happen... I'd love to get a stock tank and put a water heater in it for them over the winter...lol, then I could build them a lovely duck house that is lined with straw for warmth....but I know they will leave me and fly south for the winter...but we'll always have the spring and summer.....sigh
Wow! What a view!! The ducks would be fun to watch!
