I think it is best that I avoid Nebraska during holidays and peak allergy times. Why? Well, every time I go home I seem to end up at the Johnson Co. Medical Clinic for either an illness or severe allergy issues. It doesn't make me happy at all. Nope, not at all. This year I managed to make it past Christmas Day before waking up sick. I think it started out as the flu and resulted in a sinus infection. The Doctor gave me a 5 day supply of antibiotics and said that if I still wasn't feeling well at the end of the fifth day, that she would call my pharmacy with a prescription. I hate to say it...but I need it. I feel like crap. All I want to do is sleep. I'm exhausted. I am full of this really gross, thick mucus that I can't get out my nose....it barely drains down my throat and just loves to gag me. Yuck, yuck, yuck. Not a fun way to start out the new year.
So, my trip to good old Nebraskie was not as fun as I had hoped. Why?! Because I spent a whole week sleeping, blowing my nose and remarking how crappy I felt. By the end of last week I wanted out of my parents house simply because I was stir crazy, not because I felt better. What did I do on my vacation beside sleep? I managed to visit my cousin Jeremy with my Mom and his Mom, Linda. I sat at Lonnie and Deanna's for New Years Eve and sorted through Kelsie's beads that were all mixed together. I got to see two of Dewey's bears. Yep, that is about it. I ate a bunch of butter brickle ice cream before I decided that it made my mucus issue worse. Yep, that is about it. I did go see my Grandma at the Nursing home but not until the day before I left...basically because I didn't want to make her sick so I waited until I had been on medication long enough that I couldn't spread any germs. She knew who I was at first but then later she started to get confused. She'll be 90 this February.
So, up until the day before Christmas, I had a great time. I had fun at Michelle's for the Ornament Exchange. Christmas Eve I spent at my parents home going through my stuff that was stored in the basement. Christmas Day we had everyone over for fun and frolic at my Parents house. It was nice, people stayed longer than they have in years. I'll post some pictures above for you to see what I am talking about.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season!

I do not know who gave us this crap, but they can keep it next year.
That is for sure...it was a sucky present. I would love to return it.
Glad to hear that you made it home. What is it with you that you get sick everytime that you come to Nebraska . Its not that bad is it.
It must be...lol.
How was Jeremy doing. I bet he enjoyed you guys coming. That was so niceof you .
that was me that just sent that anonymous one sorry
Why don't you go visit him. You just have to get a form filled out first and be OK'd. I think he would love it. I've been to visit him three times...and I live all the way out here.
Yeah, Vickie, you should, then you could come down and go with me.. He would be tickled to death to see you.. You won't recognize him though.. He is so darn tall, (makes me feel like a dwarf!) and has really filled out.Pumping iron has really changed his shape. He was always so thin before.. He looks great now! Has a lot of Randy traits, walking and standing etc.
