I wanna put up a tree...

I really want to put up a tree this year but I am not going to let myself. Why? I get a real tree and they have to be watered a lot. I'm leaving for Nebraska on the 22nd and won't return until the 2nd of January. It would be stupid to put up a tree if I'm not going to be there to water it. This was last years tree. The sucker was so tall that I couldn't put a star or angel on it. It even looked nice in the daylight. Last year there were three trees in the basement but this year there are only 2. Sam put up his tree using my white lights instead of his normal colored lights. I think, out of all the other Jewish boys in his school, he probably has the prettiest Christmas tree in town. LOL, that is what happens when your son is raised by a bunch of protestant nannies. It gets worse...their egg for their Seder plate at Passover has a blue, decorated Easter egg that has little stars of David drawn all over it and the phrase, "Official Passover Egg." Anyway the other tree in our basement is full of red lights. The more I look at it the more I think its a shame that the lights are red. She has some pretty ornaments on it but you can't really see them with the red lights. Now if the lights were white they would stand out more. I had to move the red, devilish tree over because she only decorated the front and a little of the sides. The tree was leaning forward because of the lack of balance and if it fell it was going to hit the coffee table. After I slid it over I put a couple of weights from the gym equipment on the of the base so it would have a better chance of staying upright. It told Sam to tell her but I am not sure he did. I just knew that if the tree toppled and if any of those ornaments broke it would be blamed on me. That is typically the way it goes since we don't speak. So not only did I avoid possible drama, I also did my good deed of the week. I would like to think that the same thing would be done if the situation was reversed, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.
Oh, and MOM....see, see, you can see some tree under all of my decorations, so there!

I wish I could even fit a Charlie Brown tree over here in my place. I have to make do with Earnest, my little mini-tree from my years in Nannydom. It's actually pretty cute. I could send you a pic and you could post it...since my blogsite is icky for picture posting.
