Ok, I lost the battle....but I won the fight. Huh? Ok, maybe not, but here is a story of my good deed. I was in the NYC last Sunday. It was about 6:30PM, I was headed back down to Penn Station. I had walked over to Broadway because there was a Street Fair farther East and I knew it would be useless to try there. I'm standing on the corner looking north torward Central Park. I was standing there for a while and I didn't see any cabs that were free. They all had their lights off or their off-duty lights on. After a few minutes I decided to see if I could catch a cab coming from the cross street. As I turn, I see a young lady standing looking down the street and she looked like she was looking for a cab also, so I decided not to cramp her and I stayed where I was. FINALLY, I spot two free cabs coming my way. I raise my arm and hail one down. It pulls over and I open the door, when that girl came rushing over and in a huff says, "I've been waiting here for ten minutes to get a cab." Without even thinking I step back and extend my arm, letting her jump into my cab. As she pulls the door shut, I see the other cab pull past and realize I can't get it to stop...he can't see me anymore. That is when I think to myself, "SUCKER! You were waiting for a cab for atleast 10 minutes too. If that stupid wench had just raised her arm you could have both had cabs....but NOOOOO. " So, there I stood, waiting another 5 minutes, easy. Why the hell did I have to be so nice...and to someone that obviously wouldn't appreciate my gesture. I guess its my fault, cause I bought the dead bugs and didn't want to haul the glass frame through the subway because I was afraid it would get bumped around and it was fragile. I'll post my bug pictures later...I promise!
Nothin' to see here, people, move along. Ok, if you insist on staying, atleast take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable. Once I get started...well, you could be here for a while. (Just ignore the typos. I do.) Yes, snacks are allowed as long as you share and clean up after yourself. Oh yeah, hey...if you happen to see my scissors around here, could you let me know. I could have sworn I had them right here a minute ago.

Because that is how we were raised my dear cousin. Blame our Parents.
My Mother gets upset with me when I blame her for things...so can I blame your parents....lol.
In case you were not aware, you are also a young lady. Where should the line be drawn? If you keep this up, New Yorkers will lose their reputation for not being polite. lol
I don't know, but I am kind of fond of the first come, first serve theory of cab hailing. If she would have just raised her arm we would have both had a cab and I would not have been so peeved about being nice without thinking about it. That is what drove me nuts.
