So, the way it sounds Tisha had a bad day yesterday. She told them before her surgery that she had problems with Morphine....it makes her puke. She discovered that when she had her tonsils removed as a kid. she also told them that our Mom and our Grandmother have the same problem with morphine. The put a wristband on her with a highlighted notice to not give her morphine. Well, they gave it to her anyway. She had one drip every 10 minutes and she was puking up a storm. Now, you would think that they wouldn't want someone that just had major spinal and brain surgery to be puking. The dumbasses. Dewey (Tisha's husband) talked to his Mom (Loretta is Tisha's mother in law)who then called our Mom and told her that Tisha was throwing up a lot. Mom had told Tisha she wasn't coming up on Tuesday but was on Wens instead. Well after hearing that Mom went up and that is when Mom found out about the mistake. She had them stop her morphine drip and change her pain medication. That seemed to help. Poor Tisha.
The Doctor took off her bandage while Mom was there and she got to see her scar. It is still swollen and black and blue but it looks very good...so they say. I am sure I would be puking myself if I got a glimpse of it. Mom says its between 8 and 10 inches down her head and neck onto her back. I'm gagging right now, just thinking about it. I guess the doc also said that Tisha had a ton of muscle on her neck. He asked her if she had been playing football with the boys or something. She was very strong and he had a tough time cutting though all that muscle. LOL, its from all the sights we got into as kids, I am sure of it. I don't think he had to take any muscle out of her leg as a result. They did remove one full vertebrae and filed down a second to make room for that big brain of hers. It(her cerebellum tonsils) was sticking down about 2 inches farther than normal. Then again, she was never normal. They put her on blood thinners and those compression boots on her legs to prevent blood clots.
I told Mom to tell Tisha I visited her...which ofcourse I didn't fly to Nebraska. When she got her tonsils removed as a child I did visit her in the hospital, I had a conversation with her, told her over and over not to try talking...but that morphine does strange things to her. She swears I was never there and really resented me for not visiting her when I was in the same town. I WAS there...the little freak couldn't remember it though she does remember Scooby Doo being there. Oy Vey! Anyway, I figured if she swore I didn't visit the last time...then this time, if I really wasn't there, she may think I had been. She didn't fall for it though. Darn it.
Dewey stayed at Jon and Vic's last night. He slept at the hospital the first night to be near Tisha but the sleeping accommodations were not very comfy.

Well that is a scarry thing to have happen. It is a good thing she did not have a worse reaction. I hope that she is feeling better.
She was doing real good. I went out and seen her this after noon and she was sitting in the chair. Why I was there she was moved to her room. Instead of the icu. She looked pretty perky. It was good to see
Good to hear, oh so good to hear.
