Our little soldiers were all lined up, clean and ready to can. We spent hours working on them. Raine helped us take off the skin and because of her hard work she gets a jar for her home. The other counter was filled up and Jim had bowls of tomatoes sitting around on top of the ones covering the counter top.

TOMATOES! TOMATOES! Salsa salsa salsa... what did you guys make or did you just can them plain?
Well, Jim had made sauce already so this time we just canned the tomatoes whole after we removed the skin. For dinner we had a wonderful Portuguese Fish Stew that used the tomatoes as a base and we also had made fresh Bruschetta. It was all so yummy. I'm going ot post the recipes on the Kaster's Chat and Chew site later this week. They are worth a looksie.
Those look sooooo good.
Oh, they are good, really good. I had to bring some home to slice for my sandwiches.
I can't believe how nice the tomatoes look. Mine looked like shit this year. I didn't get many. I don't know if many more aregoing to set on or not. In a way I'm glad I didn't want to can them.
