Katie goes to college in 8 days. The countdown continues. This was Katie, being where she wasn't supposed to be. She was not allowed to play in my bedroom. Sometimes I would find little toys in my room and wonder how they got there. Then I figured I might of had it im my hand when I was picking up and without thinking, set it down in my room. Yeah right! One Sunday I came home and heard Katie talking to herself, playing as I came up the stairs. I had my camera with me so I stepped out and whispered her name...TA DA! She has little game pieces on her fingers that she was using as puppets and a couple of books not to mention the plastic sord and something else....who knows whatelse she had with her.

Yet another flounder...

Sam went fishing for 5 hours with some realitives and when they got back...Cliff found me snuggled up watching a movie. He suckered me into helping them filet the flounder. Yuck. I was going to just walk Cliff through it but he was doing such a strange job of it that I had to take over. I hate cleaning fish. Its gross and smelly. Whatever you do...DO NOT tell my Father that I can clean fish. You know what would happen. I'd be home and he'd come back from fishing all day with a crap load of work for me to do. I'm telling you....if I find out you rat on me....you will have to suffer my wrath. I think I am going to go call John and Vic's today was the family get together.

I made a mistake...

I've made many but this one was just a sighted goof. I posted a comment on a friends blog and now I know that certain people will follow my link to my site. It really kind of bums me out but not enough for me to switch sites again. I'm happy with my free form mess. I like the name, I like the history I have created. I bitch a little, laugh a lot, and I am going keep it that way.

What is the worse thing that they could do...make fun of my blog? Probably. Do I care about their thoughts on that subject...not at all. So perhaps I should welcome them to my site. Yeah, maybe, but that would mean that I welcome their presence in my life as well. I can't really say that. I can wish them the best life has to offer, but when it comes to being in my life, there isn't room for them. I've moved on and with exception of one person, I don't really miss them at all. It sounds sad, but its not really. I closed that door and a few new doors have opened, which makes me sad that I never closed that door sooner. Oh well, we should all limit our regrets anyway.

They say it's your BIRTHDAY.....

Happy Birthday Dear Tami, Happy Birthday to YOU! See, you got a little cake on your birthday and its homemade. I didn't forget...and while I'm at it, Happy birthday tomorrow...to my Cousin Mike. Gosh we are getting old. Posted by Picasa

Katie goes to college in 9 days....the count down continues. So, I am going to post an old picture of her everyday until she leaves. Todays lovely pic is of Katie playing the part of an old lady and her little friend Seth....Raine's Seth as ....as....I'm not sure what. Perhaps another old lady. He is sporting a lovely satin princess dress, feather boa, and a lovely red feather hat. He is in High school now...perhaps I should drop a copy of this in the mail to his mother.  Posted by Picasa

this is not a picture of Eric....no, it is a picture of Captian Hook, cant you see the hook on the end of his hand. That isn't a purse he has slung around his shoulder, its a pirates bag filled with his treasure...ok, its just Katies plastic jewelery but not to Eric, I mean the Captain. That is not a plastic Crocodiel Dentist game on the floor its the real Croc from Peter Pan....and that isn't a Twister game it's a the rocky shore, and you have to jump on the dots...aka rocks to escape from the tic toc of the croc. I wasn't allowed to be Tinkerbell or Peter Pan, or even Wendy or a Lost Boy. I was Schmee, the Captain's faithful assistant. I will never forget Eric yellin, "Hurry up Schmee, the Crocodile is going to get you!" Schmee, of all people...Schmee! Ok, it was fun. Eric was the best pirate ever, bar none. Posted by Picasa

A Gold fish has a memory span of three seconds.

So on that note, how about some more random trivia regarding goldfish. If a goldfish is pregnant, its called a twit. That's right, twit is the official term for a preggers goldfish. Now, here is a question for you: Would you rather swallow a live goldfish without water or swallow a teaspoon of cold fish eyes? I know both options are gross but you have to choose one, your life may depend on it. Posted by Picasa

What's the difference between roast beef and pea soup?

Anyone can roast beef.

I know, I know...

...Lots and lots of pictures...no real blogging. Well, I'm just a little upset and nervous about my Sisters hospital issues. I know she will get better and be out before you know it but she is having a rough time of it and it makes me sick that I can't see her and that i have not been able to talk to her. She wasn't up to phone calls today...so I left her alone and we all know that I never leave people alone. I'm a big pest. I'll keep you posted.

Catch anything? Uncle Lonnie and my Father will drop some lines in any kind of water. Hey, they had their beer and a shade tree over head, what more could they ask for besides a bite. Posted by Picasa

Awwww, this was Sugar...Brown Sugar...he was old, he was almost completely blind, could smell a carrot from 100 yards. Who could forget that little squeal he would let out when you opened the basement fridge where we kept his fresh veggie treats. I miss him.  Posted by Picasa

Katie is leaving for college in 10 days. 10 days, people, let the countdown begin.  Posted by Picasa

Who says that Uncle Allen...aka Uncle Peanut Butter, isn't a good sport. Give him a beer...and don't ask why there is a balloon on that bottle...and he'll let you put your toys on his head, shoulders, and lap. Danielle looked like she was having fun. Posted by Picasa

Chester! Oh dear sweet, hamburger stealing Chester! This big lug is the only thing I miss about living in New Canaan, Connecticut. I would love to snatch him away from those nasty people that own him but I can't do that kind of thing...dang it. Posted by Picasa

I love this picture. It cracks me up. The year? 1977. I remember my shirt. I must have been shocked when someone turned around and snapped this picture of my mother with me looking over her shoulder. Mom will be happy to know that when Cliff saw this pictre...he said she looked like she was 18. Really she was around 28. There must be something to be said for close ups with too much flash....right Ma? Posted by Picasa

Tisha had a turn for the worse today...

Mom went to see Tisha and then called me to tell me not to call her today. She has had a rough day. She started throwing up again and as a result they had to cover her surgical scar up because it was oozing. I'm sure it was from all the pressure put on her neck and head from throwing up. She wasn't feeling well at all. It's kind of upsetting since she has a great day yesterday. They had messed with her medication last night and switched it again today because they thought it may be the cause of her vomit issues. I swear! Hopefully she will feel better later and tomorrow. At this rate, I really don't see how she is going to be able to gt out of the hospital by Friday. I just don't see it happening.

I'm calling my sister today....

Yeppers, I decided that she can handle a call from her big sis today. She really has no choice. I won't keep her long because she hates phones and she is bound to be tired and icky feeling from surgery. I'm just glad she is out of the ICU and on her way to a speedy recovery. I know Mom was going to see her again today so I am waiting until this afternoon to call. It's been killing me, I wanted to call her right away but I knew she wouldn't be up to it. Anyway, I have to go bother Cliff and Sam now...more on her convo with me...to come later tonight.

LOL, that is my Godson/ Cousin.....Zach aka, Roofus or Sally. This was taken a couple of years ago but I think it shows how silly he really is. He's a goof, but how could he escape it. With Genetics he was doomed but it doesn't help that he spends way too much time with MY Father, his Father, and his brothers and their friends. The kid never stood a chance. All I can say is that I am glad he grew out of his "lick Nett when she tries to give you a kiss on the cheek" habit. It drove me nuts. He'd say, no, I won't lick you....and when you decided to trust the little shit, he'd give you a big wet cheek at the last possible second, just before he sprinted away laughing. Ewwww. Everyone is a comedian. Posted by Picasa

Now I'm getting pissed off...

For some reason I am getting SPAM comments on my site. It's really pissing me off too. Does anyone know a way to block them? Let me know. If you notice the deleted comments on my last blog....three of the four were junk, so I ditched them.

Tisha update...

So, the way it sounds Tisha had a bad day yesterday. She told them before her surgery that she had problems with Morphine....it makes her puke. She discovered that when she had her tonsils removed as a kid. she also told them that our Mom and our Grandmother have the same problem with morphine. The put a wristband on her with a highlighted notice to not give her morphine. Well, they gave it to her anyway. She had one drip every 10 minutes and she was puking up a storm. Now, you would think that they wouldn't want someone that just had major spinal and brain surgery to be puking. The dumbasses. Dewey (Tisha's husband) talked to his Mom (Loretta is Tisha's mother in law)who then called our Mom and told her that Tisha was throwing up a lot. Mom had told Tisha she wasn't coming up on Tuesday but was on Wens instead. Well after hearing that Mom went up and that is when Mom found out about the mistake. She had them stop her morphine drip and change her pain medication. That seemed to help. Poor Tisha.

The Doctor took off her bandage while Mom was there and she got to see her scar. It is still swollen and black and blue but it looks very good...so they say. I am sure I would be puking myself if I got a glimpse of it. Mom says its between 8 and 10 inches down her head and neck onto her back. I'm gagging right now, just thinking about it. I guess the doc also said that Tisha had a ton of muscle on her neck. He asked her if she had been playing football with the boys or something. She was very strong and he had a tough time cutting though all that muscle. LOL, its from all the sights we got into as kids, I am sure of it. I don't think he had to take any muscle out of her leg as a result. They did remove one full vertebrae and filed down a second to make room for that big brain of hers. It(her cerebellum tonsils) was sticking down about 2 inches farther than normal. Then again, she was never normal. They put her on blood thinners and those compression boots on her legs to prevent blood clots.

I told Mom to tell Tisha I visited her...which ofcourse I didn't fly to Nebraska. When she got her tonsils removed as a child I did visit her in the hospital, I had a conversation with her, told her over and over not to try talking...but that morphine does strange things to her. She swears I was never there and really resented me for not visiting her when I was in the same town. I WAS there...the little freak couldn't remember it though she does remember Scooby Doo being there. Oy Vey! Anyway, I figured if she swore I didn't visit the last time...then this time, if I really wasn't there, she may think I had been. She didn't fall for it though. Darn it.

Dewey stayed at Jon and Vic's last night. He slept at the hospital the first night to be near Tisha but the sleeping accommodations were not very comfy.

I found this picture when I was going through my photos the other day.We were visiting Chris at Dartmouth College his first year. There were not enough chairs so I took one of the folding chairs and Katie decided to use me as a lounger. What better way to utilize your old Nanny...yep furniture. Posted by Picasa

Sam colored a pretty picture for me while at the museum. He is learning o stay in the lines and if you notice he made the guy in the plane look like me. I don't see it. Teenagers. Jez! Posted by Picasa

we went to the Cradle of Aviation today and Sam and Eric took a little ride in a mini experimental plane with Sam at the stick.  Posted by Picasa

Tisha is out of surgery...

The doctor said that everything went really well. She is in recovery and when I talked to Mom, she was still out cold. I'll keep you posted as the events unfold. For those of you that may want to go visit her she is at Bryan West....or the old Lincoln General Hospital. I'm not sure she can have company today but she will be out of the hospital in a few days depending on how she does.
