Via Hawaii...and Kansas

Posted by Picasa
I won a blog contest over at Lettie's Polka Dot Pineapple blog. I discovered her a while back and fell in love with her creations. Fun stuff, lots and lots of fun stuff, like things adorned with yo-yo's. Oh how I love yoyo's! Lettie was quickly added to my bloglines and I suggest you check her out. She's a sweetheart and I must say, she spoiled me with her contest prize. I felt like it was a never ending box of goodies. I just kept pulling beautiful stuff out. She satisfied my tummy with macadamia nuts...yes a bag of Maui Onion flavored nuts and then a box of chocolate covered, caramel macadamia nuts. YUMMY! We know how I love anything covered in caramel...well, almost anything. I tried the onion flavored nuts last night and had a hard time putting the bag down because they were so delish. Moving on...because I could get stuck talking about food for hours on end.
Click on the picture above to view all the items a little closer. It's like I won a jackpot. If you look closely, you will see a bright blue, Hawaiian print set of oven hot pads with a matching kitchen towel. Now if my Sister was anywhere near me, she'd be trying to get a hold of the set, but lucky for me, she's in Nebrasky. The battle would have been fierce. Oh but there is more... I almost don't know where to continue, there is so much stuff. Let's see, there is the cutest little yo-yo angel ornament. I'll hang it on my tree every Christmas and think of Lettie. I'm a huge ornament fan...everyone knows that. Then there is the yo yo notebook cover, adorable and functional, plus it has yo yo's and buttons...HEAVEN! The sun glass case adorn with a big yo-o...CUTE! Speaking of cute, we have the beaded strawberry pin...such a fun idea. Next we have the pocket tissue case. I needed one of those! I don't know how Lettie knew! On to the Jewelry tote...I have ALWAYS wanted one of these. I kid you not. Whenever I go home, I end up shoving my necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in anything that will seal up and I can squash into my carry-on. Ziploc bags don't work well with earrings, they just poke through. Problem solved with Lettie's jewel tote. Then we have the bag...OMG, the bag! I remember seeing it on her site and drooling over it. Hello, its pink! HELLO...its gorgous! I needed a new bag. I was eyeing some Vera Bradley bags but I've got something even better...one of Lettie's Polka Dot Pineapple bags, eat your hearts out! I feel absolutely spoiled. Sam asked me which item was my favorite. I said, I love them all. He then said, "OK, hypothetically, lets say you were told you could only keep one item and had to give everything else back...what would you keep." I must have shot him a funny look because he started laughing and hounding me to pick as I sat stroking my plentiful bounty. Finally I told him to keep his hypothetical stuff to himself, because the whole idea shot my blood pressure up. He thought that was a hoot. I told him I should be able to keep everything that I can fit into one bag...afterall it was my birthday and lucky me, everything fits nicely in the bag Lettie sent me. Ahhhh, that's better!Pick one?! What was he thinking?! Thank you so much Lettie! You made my day!

Now I bet you are wondering where the "Kansas" part of the title come into play here. A while ago, my Cousin's neighbor, Mandy had a contest on her myspace blog. Well, I won and she sent me a lovely assorted gift basket of peach nectar scented bath items. I took a picture of the basket...and I could have sworn I saved it on the computer...but I can't find the picture anywhere. It's driving me nuts. That is why I didn't post this yesterday, I had to find the picture. I have given up for the time being...but if I do come across it, I'll stick it on here and let everyone know. I use the products everyday. I'm not the only one that likes the smell...the local bees adore me when I'm outside. Yeah, it smells that good! Everything in the basket was wonderful but the lotion is amazing. I started putting it on my dry winter feet. Usually it takes a good week to get them soft and ready for sandal weather...but that lotion did the trick in one night. I was really impressed. Let me tell you, my heals were in pathetic shape. Not anymore, they are smooth like butter. Thanks Mandy!

***UPDATE*** AH HA! Once I stopped looking for the picture, I found it. Below is the gift basket that Mandy gave me!

Marianne was the winner!

She's so lucky....or is she?! Inside this little box is the prize Raine is passing on. She kept half the prize and will be handing the other half over to Marianne. She has her address and is getting her package ready to ship. Wanna know what she's getting?
I kid you not! Salt and Vinegar crickets. Raine and Chris could not be convinced to try them...so they are all Marianne's. I triple dog dare her to eat them. If she won't, maybe she can get Mollie or Shark to nibble on them.

**Some of you lucky winners will also be recieving packages from Raine. Don't worry, you are not getting crickets.

And the winner is....

OK, I have to say, Cris was pretty close, she gave us an update that was close to the 25,000 mark...but it was Raine who emailed me first and then called me to have me check my email to see who was the WINNER. Yes, yes it was her. Now the funny part is that she was telling her husband about this just after she sent my email. LOL, then he tried to be sneaky and sent an email...BUT she was one up and knew better to tell him first. So, while I'm chatting with Raine, I get several emails from her Hubbie. It seems he even tried to leave comments on my site with two different usernames. Sneaky, sneaky! Reena missed Raine's winning email by about 2 minutes. Oh so close!

I already have the 25,000 visitor contest prize....lol, I'll post whether Raine likes it after I see her on Sunday.

Thanks for playing along. I might have to have another contest soon.

The winner is...

I stuck all the names in a box and pulled out one slip of paper for my Blogaversary contest.....

Drum roll please....

and the winner is...

Raine!! I was sure Marianne or Andi would win because they had a lot more comments but it looks like the luck of the Irish was with Raine today.

Prize coming... I need to get to the store and pick it up.

Don't be sad because you didn't win! You have a second chance to win a prize from me. Remember to keep an eye on my counter located on my sidebar and be the first person to notify me when I hit/break the 25,000th visitor mark.

Thank you Darlene~

My Prize arrived in the mail today from Darlene, the famous Madame Z, via "our neighbors to the North" (I meant Canada...in case you are slow). Thank you so much!!!!!! I can't wait to eat the chocolates, they look yummy and I am half tempted not to share...hehe, I kid you not! It's chocolate people! Don't look at me that way, you can share YOUR chocolate. The card made me chuckle because, that is the kind of luck I have. Hot guys only show up on days I have bad hair or a big zit...like I'm friggin 14 or something, sheesh. I started the mystery word search. The funny thing is I flipped it open and the first page I came to had knitting terms. Luck of the drawl. The napkins are cute and frankly, you can never had to many napkins. The Flour Sack towels are to die for. Serioursly, they are so soft. There is a bright orange one hiding under the blue and green one...and I think I may have to do a little embroidery on them. I have to find something fun to put on them. I'm excepting suggestions. Can you see the magnet? It says, "Welcome Friends ~Relatives by appointment~ " LOL, I totally love that. I keep telling my Mom that I am going to make a sign like that for her to hang in front of their house. Not that it would make a difference anyway because I seriously doubt any of our relatives read.......lol. Oh sheesh, I'm just joking~ I'm going to get the emails now, or the passive aggressive silent treatment, which I wouldn't mind...hehe. No seriously, they can read, they just choose not to. OK, OK, I'll stop. I really don't want to though.

You are a sweetheart Darlene! I have a little something for you, I'll pop it in the mail sometime next week. Don't get to excited. It takes ffffffooooorrrreeeevvvveeeerrrr for packages to reach you guys. Why is that? Hmmmm.

Whoa!

When AJ gives away a blogaversary prize, she pulls out all the stops. Holy Cow! I'm the luckiest gal in the world, I do believe! I received the package yesterday and it looked like the guys at the post office decided to sit on the corner of the box, giving it an interesting shape. lol, Anyway, I opened the box to find item after interesting item. I felt like I hit the lotto jackpot or something. I loved it all but the most wonderful thing is the shawl that she whipped up for me. What a lovely surprise. It's so soft and so beautiful, I can't wait to use it.
Now I just have to figure out what to make with all the cool fiber that she sent me. There is a cute little sweater that I want to attempt to make for my baby niece Rue and after feeling the bamboo knitting needles, I completely understand why people love them so much....I'm addicted now. Yep, I can't thank AJ enough for her generosity...what a sweetheart!

My Grand Prize came today!

A while back I won a trivia contest on Marianne's blog. Yeah, I know my trivia. Its sad but true. Anyway, My grand prize was an expired Firestone coupon. I know! How cool is that. Marianne shipped off the prize and added a few more for fun since I said I could always use a few expired coupons to write phone messages on in a pinch. Seriously, you can never find a blank piece of paper when you need it. Don't even get me going on working ink pens....sheesh. Oh and the person that thinks its funny to stick unsharpen'd pencils in the cup are soooo going to get it when I catch them doing that. Anyway, I love my prize..and like Marianne said in her letter..."When you win with me- You win BIG!!"
Hell Yeah! Thanks!
