I'm not having one of those days....I hope you are not either.  Posted by Picasa

Oh so evil....

So, this morning Sam tells me that he made plans for me to pick up him and Brianna after school and to take them to the middle school to visit old teachers. I said, why can't you take the bus? He said they would get to the school to late and they wouldn't be able to visit with any of the teachers before they left. I gave in and picked them up. They got out to the van pretty late and by the time I got them down to the school...the bus was a car ahead of us. Uh huh! So then Sam started to ask Brianna if she had her cell with her and she didn't, so he said...well lets just plan on getting picked up at.... That was where I cut him off and said, its a lovely day, you can leave your bags in the van and you can walk home together. AH! I know, evil! After making me drive him to his friends house the other day..three blocks away...I decided since he didn't have homework or any pressing activities until later in the evening...he could get some exercise and I could get some things done around the house, instead of wasting my time sitting in the van. They are always late when they give me a time to pick them up after their teacher visits anyway. It's not like it was raining or anything...so the walk will do them good.

I have a thing for hearts.

It's true. I never realized it until a friend pointed it out once. She said, "You are drawn to hearts, aren't you." I said, "Nah, I don't think so." Then she said, "Well, for someone not drawn to them, you sure notice them a LOT and you own quite a few things with hearts on them." So, that got me thinking. After fighting the facts for a while, I realized, she was right. I like hearts, I am drawn to them. Maybe that is what I liked about this eye picture...that heart, haunting me. It is a striking image, isn't it. This picture got me thinking. How cool would it be if our eyes gave away our true feelings? Oh could you imagine the number of people always wearing shades...sun glass sales would soar. If someone really loved you, you would see a heart, if they secretly hated you you would see a small crescent moon...ect, ect. That could be very interesting. It would have saved me years of wasted time spent with people that are guarded about their true feelings. Ah, but its not meant to be...we have to suffer it out, I guess. It would have come in handy when a certain someone kept sending me mixed signals....tis life.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday Dear MOTHER.....Happy Birthday to you....are you one, are you two, are you three...are you fifty-eight? Yep, you are, don't even try to pretend I am making that up. I just told the world....aren't I a nice daughter? I wanted to call you tonight but I had to work. did youhave fun after school? Did you open your present? Did you like it? Will it work? Love you, Nett

Oh my, I don't think I should even comment on this picture.......It's to hard to type with the tears of laughter streaming from my eyes. There are some photos that you would have loved to been a fly on the wall to witness, because you really can't imagine what was said to make him put that goffy look on his face. Oh Uncle Gary, you are a piece of work. It's so nice that your family likes to supply me with all of these priceless pictures, isn't it. Posted by Picasa

LOL, Ok, that made me laugh. My question is, who is he listening to and where the hell can I get a pair of those ear guards. Wait! Is that Bush on the screen in the back ground? Hmmmmm. Posted by Picasa

On a more serious note...

I have been in a serious mood lately, I hate it when that happens. I would really like to write a few serious blogs but I don't feel like that is such a great idea for me to do. I think we will stick to the fluff for a while, atleast until I feel it is safe to write whatever I want and not have it turn into some kind of dramatic vomit. Yeah, you heard me right. I just want to write what I want to write and not have to explain or defend my feelings to anyone right now. I'm tired of the email tennis matches and the hoopla that goes along with it. I know that you get my drift. There are just much more important things in life that I would rather throw my energy into than stuff like that. It never gets us anywhere, it just takes us on emotional roller coaster rides and not the fun kind that you want to ride again and again...nope, its the kind that makes you so sick you vow never to ride it gain.
I'm a little sad because my favorite people have not been blogging lately. What is that about?! I have nothing to comment about, and that leads me to the sites of strangers. I have not found many sites to book mark lately. So sad.....ho hummm. Of course, my site has taken a boring turn so I think it the spirit of fun and adventure...I will post a goofy relative picture again. Those seem to be a big hit. Since I have recently discovered that Uncle Gary is putting me on his hit list....in all fairness I probably deserve it....afterall, I have placed a lot of silly pics on my site of him. I can't help it, he just screams to be picked on. The rest of the family encourages me to bust on him, perhaps because I leave them alone in the process. LOL, MAN, you have to love family!

Ode to Popcorn...

Oh, I do love popcorn. I love it so. It is the breakfast of champions, the lunch of the influential, the dinner of the devilish, snack to the world. Ok, maybe not the world. I do know that there are people that don't like popcorn very much. I prefer to refer to those individuals as freaks.....like my Sister, who I love very much but I can not fathom how anyone could not adore the crunchy little piece of heaven that we call popped corn. I used to refer to myself as an Ice Cream whore....(because I love that frozen treat so much and would joke that I would do almost anything for ice cream, especially Vanilla or Butter Brickle, basically any I.C. without big chunks or nuts).....but I love Popcorn a heck of a lot more. What does that make me then? What is worse than a I.C. whore? I really don't know. All I do know, is that I love popcorn. It is almost impossible for me to smell the lovely scent of freshly popped popcorn and resist the urge to eat some of it. Movie theatres are the worst, seriously, they are. If I happen to resist the urge to get a huge bag of the yummy stuff, I find myself sitting with in a few seats of someone that has a huge tub of joy on their lap. I spend half of the movie thinking about why I was an idiot for not getting myself some popcorn. Don't get me wrong, I don't need all of that salt and butter on my popcorn to make it taste. I love it plain too. I like air popped corn too. I know, I know, its just not normal, but who ever said I was normal. NOBODY! LOL, beat you to that, didn't I?! Anyway, I'm going to go nuke myself a bag of popcorn right now. I've given myself a craving for it. Dang it.

My new addition....

Ok, so if you look at the crap I add to my side bar...your right side....my left...lol, you will notice that I added a really fun site counter. Its a NeoCounter and it marks where the people viewing my site are from. So, I can finally see where the random blog readers that never comment are coming from. Its kinda neat. Check it out. Ive only had it one day and already it is showing results. Fun, fun, fun, so now I have to run. I need to pick up ole Clifford at the Long Island Rail Road train station...can my life get anymore exciting?

I want them...I really do...

I must have them....but I can't justify that price. Can I? Hmmmm...Christmas is coming up....hint hint.
Follow that link, people, follow that link.

AUGH! Look what I found in the freezer. Every year I buy Girl scout cookies and I put them in the back of the freezer...out of sight out of mind. Tonight I discovered them. Not good, not good at all. They are way too yummy! It's just not fair that any cookie taste so darn good when they are frozen. I won't eat the G.S. Thin Mints if they are not frozen. Stupid Girl Scouts and their stinking good cookies. I'm going to eat two more and then put the back in the freezer and try to forget about them again. TRY....yeah right! Posted by Picasa

The package containing something I found....

Ok, so I mailed off that package containing something I found. Danielle recieved it Monday. I guess she couldn't wait to open it up because she had it in the store with her and was picking at the tape. Her Mother...the fabulous Cindy...told her not to open it in the store. So, Danielle takes it outside and rips into that puppy. She then screams and runs inside to tell her Mom that I had sent her a huge spider. Cindy just laughed and told her that it wasn't a spider but a crab. Actually it was the remains of a horseshoe crab. I had found him in the backyard, floating around and had fished him out with an oar. He was already dead ofcourse so I threw him in the flower bed and hosed him out with some fresh water, every couple of days until he was nothing but shell. He didn't even smell when I packaged him up but I knew that by the time he arrived he would be a little stinky from being inside that plastic bag. Danielle and Cindy took him to the school and are giving him to the biology lab. I figured that was the best place for him anyway. After all...a horseshoe crab is a little out of place in Kansas.

Another sleepless night....

Dang it! Yeah, you heard me, dang it. I can't sleep. I have been tossing and turning for hours. Its just getting a little silly. I finally decided to just get out of bed and do something that may lead to boredom or exhaustion. Why is it, when you want to sleep, you can't. When you don't want to sleep you have to fight to keep your eyes open. It's annoying. I know I will have dark circles under my eyes tomorrow morning....no, I guess I mean, this morning. I'll be up in less that 3 hours anyway.

I guess I just have too much on my mind. I have a million little things rolling around in my head. They are all good things too. I'm not stressing our over anything. That is the only good thing about it. well, i guess I will go glitter my latest Christmas ornament idea. I think I will give them out this year after all. I can't help it, instead of one ornament to exchange, I will have four. I can't help it....plus they are all very simple things. I should save them for the following year. Maybe I will...who knows.

Its a Bear Train...all aboard! Meredith is such a cutie pie. I mean, now cute is that and she is smart too, she kept the comfy chair for herself. I'm the person to blame for her love of those silly bears, I gave her her first one when she was born. It got pretty nasty looking so Tami and I both bought her another one. I just sent her baby Sister one but Tami is going to leave it packed away until Stephanie is older or Meredith will take off with that bear. What can I say, the girl has good taste in sorft huggy bears.Posted by Picasa

The girlie is up to it again....go figure...

I never know what to expect when I see Katie's away message alert on my IM buddy list. Nothing that girl says or does anymore surprises me...but that is part of her charm.

Ho Hum and other Sunday musings...

It's a lovely day outside. I feel like sitting around my bedroom all day and reading. I'm not going to do that though. I am forcing myself to get out there and enjoy the fresh air and dang it, I'm going to like it. But doesn't staying curled up in your freshly laundered bed on a nice cool day, with a good book and a cup of tea sound lovely....doesn't it. I can only think of one or two things that would improve that situation....but that is a whole other blog....lol.
I kind of feel like painting my tombstones. KINDA...being the pivotal word in that sentence. I kinda don't feel like painting them too. LOL....Jez. I called Ashley but she must be sleeping or out. i hope she didn't forget we had plans. That would blow..but I could get my hair cut and get a mani/pedi instead. I really need to get my eyebrows waxed. I have been plucking them a little...but I hate doing that. I would rather go, have hot wax put on my skin and have the hairs ripped out in once quick jerk. It doesn't hurt so...why not.
I switched toe rings yesterday. I know you were dying to know that. I just had to get rid of the butterfly. It was time for him to make room for a smaller, simpler toe ring. Oh, I know what I can tell you about. My dream last night. It was interesting. I was walking around behind the set of a stage. The place was empty. I strolled out on the stage and the lights were off except for the spotlight in the middle of the stage. I walked out there and on the way, I noticed that all the seats in that huge theatre were empty. I walked out into the light on the stage. I stood there for a little while and then I started to dance around. The kind of silly ballet dancing I do when I am home along and bored to death..but still in a good mood. I was getting into it and I even started singing a little to my dance. Somewhere along the way, music started playing and the spotlight was following me around the stage. I didn't notice this in my dream...I was a little clueless, caught up in my own little world of make believe. Then I stopped and took a deep bow...and there was a roar of applause. I jerked my head up, scared, and the room was full of people. A full audience. That is when I woke up totally freaked out. Anyone that knows me knows that I would never sing or dance in front of a large group of people....especially alone. JEZ! NEVER! I'm not one of those people that like to be in the spot light. I'm a behind the scenes kinda gal.

I think that I'll head off now. I'm wasting time on the computer instead of getting some sunshine and fresh air. Don't worry, I have my sunblock on...I never leave home without it.

The sun IS shining....

Oh yes, today is a much better day. Well, for me anyway, I have to feel sorry for those poor folks in TX and LA. It seems like things are being taken care of down there this time...so hopefully there will be few lives lost during this storm. Put them in your prayers people.

On a brighter note...I have had several phone calls, emails, blog comments that have helped put me is a terribly great mood....yes, the kind that would drive my poor sister to the brink. She thinks I am way to happy most of the time anyway. Go figure!

Now if my tummy would stop bothering me...life would be grand.

I had a nasty day....but I have hope that tomorrow is going to shine a little brighter. Posted by Picasa

Speaking of Slinky's....I'm forming a club.

I "made like a Slinky " five minutes ago and I took a fun and exciting tumble down the stairs. Ah! Don't worry...I'm OK. I'm like a Weeble Wobble. Say it with me, "Weebles Wobble but they don't fall down." OK, OK, they fall over but they get back up. I'm definatley a Weeble Wobble. I always manage to get up....bruised, bleeding, ect...but I get up. I can't help it that I am an accident prone klutz. It's amaizing to me that I was as athletic as I was. It's even more amaizing that I survived childhood without breaking any bones. I just saved that up for when I was 20. Oh, it was only a little clavical.....and it hurt like a MO FO! Not at the time, ofcourse but the next morning and the following mornings.
I think I should start a support group for fellow Weeble Wobbles. How funny would that be? I can think of a few people that should join. Yeah, I am going to start a website devoted to the tales of Klutz's like me. Email me if you want to join and I will send you a link so you can post on our new WWA site....that is Weeble Wobble Anonymous. I guess the first step would be writing rules or steps to avoid future Weeble Wooble incidents. #1) Avoid jinxing yourself. Don't even joke about it....positive thinking only. I have a million stories where I jinxed myself and others. Yeah, that would be a good start.
Oh, believe me,
I have thought about it,
many, many, many times.
You know who you are.
Oh, don't act so surprised!
It's not like I am really going to do it.
I'm almost sure there are laws against it
Lucky for you that I didn't write those laws.
I still love yah!

jingle, jangle, jingle...

Oh Man! I almost forgot to share my bracelet story. Late in the afternoon/early evening on Sat., I got a call from Raine. She was at the Mineola train station with Kisiffer after her day out with some other people. She just wanted to know what I was doing. I was in the midst of a little driving range action but when Jean and I finished our balls we went over and picked them up. Then we went to get Jim and head out for a little yummy greek food in Rockville Centre. Anyway, while we were headed over to the Range again....Raine gave me this little silver bracelet in a cute little baby blue...NOT COUNTRY BLUE...bag. I love this puppy. It's the perfect size and everything but the most wonderful thing about it...besides it coming from Raine...is the little bell. Everyone knows how I love the sound of chimes. I guess that is why I loved my charm bracelet...because it made so much noise when I had it on. This little bell sounds like a bell that you would find on a kitties collar. I adore it so. Thanks again to Raine.....Thanks, thanks. thanks. You don't have to worry about your friendship dues for the month of October. Posted by Picasa

My view on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...new vs old

OK, OK, I have to admit that I still prefer the old C. and the C.F. I really like Johnny Depp as Willy and I didn't hate the movie although I did find myself feeling a little tired part way through. I can't help it, I'm just OLD SCHOOL when it comes to remakes. For example....new vs old....The Parent Trap. Duh, the original with Mills...not the new with Lohan. Call me old if you must but I just don't like remakes. I have it when they take a classic song and give it a new spin. No, no, no...people, don' t ruin the good stuf for petes sake...just use your brain and come up with something original. Stop messing with the classics. Ok, enough bitching...its time to go flip some laundry.
Guess what I did today for the very first time EVER....I went to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls. Yes indeed. sure I sucked but I did hit a few really nice balls to the 150 sign. Hey.....not bad for never swinging a golf club before. I think I am going to start trying to go out once and a while and hit a few balls. If I ever get any good...perhaps I will try hitting the greens. I still don't know diddle squat about golfing...but I do know the jest of how to hold the club and swing it correctly. Not that I actually do it right all the time...but it is a learning process. Jim looked so happy watching both Jean and I swinging away at those damn golf balls. Awww...its the little things in life.

Pants

Matt was going to be married to Heidi, so his father sat him down for alittle fireside chat......He says, "Matt, let me tell you something. On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite, I took off my pants and handed them to your mother and said, "Here, try these on."She did and said, "These are too big, I can't wear them." I replied,"Exactly I wear the pants in this family and I always will. Ever since that night we have never had any problems.""Hmmm," says Matt. He thinks that might be a good thing to try.On his honeymoon, Matt takes off his pants and says to Heidi, "Here try these on." She does and says, "These are too large and they don't fit me.Matt says, "Exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will, and I don't want you to ever forget that." Then Heidi takes off her pants and hands them to Matt and says, "Here you try on mine." He does and says, "I can't get into your pants." Heidi says, "Exactly and if you don't change your smart ass attitude, you never will.

I'm surprised...I thought it would be a little more evil.

It's almost that time of the year! Are you scared yet?

BOO! I'm excited already! I just love Halloween. It brings back lots of good memories and of course a few cases of sugar shock but I didn't bounce off to many walls. Of course I always think of Uncle Randy when I think of Halloween. I think I love this holiday almost as much as he did. You know the end of August is hard to get past because that was when he died, the end of September is hard because that was when his birthday was..he would have been 45 this year, and the end of October is hard because of Halloween. I guess it is all in the way you look at it....its hard because he left a lasting impression on me. Would I have wanted it any other way? NAH! So, now when I decorate for Halloween I think of him. I am in the process of working on my homemade tombstones. I will take a picture of them if I ever get them finished. I have to just remember that they don't have to be perfect...you know how I get. Can anyone say obsessive perfectionist? Its sickening. Sometimes things look better when they are just slapped together, especially for Halloween.
I know I bought a bunch of crap on clearance after Halloween last year. I can't remember what...but I can't wait to bust it out of my storage containers in the attic. Maybe I will bring them down this weekend. I personally feel it is to early to actually start decorating...but who says I can't go over my stock and figure out what I want to do this year. Oh....this is going to be FUN, FUN, FUN. I'll update you on my progress at a late date.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, save your excuses....

Attention...
The Annual Chrismas Ornament Exchange count down had begun!
Please start your ornaments as soon as possible if you have not finished them yet. I know how you guys are. Mine are done...DONE...yeah, that is right. YES, I am rubbing it in. So, if you are listed below, consider yourself warned: Amy Bender, Tamora Russell, Michelle Bartels, Shari Little and me...Annette Kaster. Oh and by the way, stop popping out babies. If this keeps up, I may have to stop making ornaments for all of your children too. How sad would that be? Get to it ladies!

Interesting dream....

So, my friend Raine had a dream about me last night. Well, not strictly about me but I was referenced it in. She was talking to my Mother who at first she mistook for her Grandmother....but then it wasn't really her Grandma...it was my Mom...whom she has never met. Anyway, My Mom was telling her that I got married and showed her a picture of my husband and that I would not be coming back to New York. She said he looked like a Nebraska Farm Boy...just my type....I guess, but how interesting is that. Oh there was more to the dream but it was mostly freaky stuff with Twit and an evil box of fur rope. Dreams are the craziest things, aren't they? Still, I want to know what this mysterious husband looked like.

Mom dared me....she just doesn't know me at all!

silentrunner92947: Really, oh, you are evil
Nett: me....yes I am evil
Nett: and you love it
Nett: cause I am just like my MOM
silentrunner92947: Don't get to many bright ideas about that picture of me..
Nett: what...what....
Nett: I wasn't thinking of that
Nett: you would kill me
silentrunner92947: I have one of you in a yellow sports car, butt-ass naked
Nett: yeah...I have it too
Nett: lol
Nett: maybe I should post it first
Nett: so nobody else can get to it
silentrunner92947: Dare you
Nett: Dare me? How dare you!
silentrunner92947: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Nett: Ok, fine...fine...you don't think I will do it, do you?
silentrunner92947: well, it would surprise me
Nett: Well, I am full of surprises!!!

I went to bed early...but....

I woke up a little bit ago. I had a terrible nightmare, one that was way to real. I woke up shaking, out of sorts, and completely freaked out. I can't go back to sleep yet. I decided to get up and keep myself busy for a little bit. I watched an episode of WEED on Showtime and then flipped to THE NOTEBOOK but I really didn't feel like watching some sappy movie so I decided to check my email. Nothing new there.

I've been preoccupied lately. My mind has been going a mile a minute. That is pretty normal but I have been a bit more quiet than normal....me....quiet....that is not so normal. I know, I know! So what is my deal? I have no clue. I'm happy but I am worried about a friend right now....maybe that is part of my problem. I don't know. I've just been a little restless. That tends to happen when I am thinking too much.

I've also been in a creative slump. That is the worst part. I really feel like I want to create something new but I don't know what to do or where to start. I know that this too shall pass. It just bites. On an upside...I have been in a mail mood. I have sent out a ton of packages and a few letters. I'm getting ready for Halloween which is always exciting. I just love Halloween. I'm not doing a costume this year though. It seems like a huge waste of money...because I can never just do a half assed costume. OK, I'm going to go back to bed now...maybe I have unwound enough to actually fall asleep. Later Gators!

AWwww...the best thank you I have gotten in a long time.

When I asked Katie if she got my packages, she replied," Yes I did!!!!! Thank you soooo much!!! You made my day. When I got the really big, light package I thought you were pulling an ass move and sending me a box with nothing in it. That would have been f#%king hilarious... but I loved the balloons and the perfume... hahah I'm having so much fun asking people what that CURIOUS smell is. Muwahaha. The curtains really pull together the room ... it's sooo pretty. You're the bestest ever. You made me feel so loved today! I love you netter better!" To which I replied, "Not as much as I love you...Katie Leacher!" Her Birthday is this Sunday.

Mike, all is forgiven!

How can I stay upset with Mike? Especially since he called and explained himself. I don't feel so bad about it now. Anyway, he was clear out East. I did get his promise that he would call the next time and he shouldn't be so rushed then, so he will be able to visit a little while. Lucky bugger....you are spared the wrath of Netter. Love yah Cousin!

Katie's latest class assignment.

I was talking to Katie earlier and she shared with me a little of her poetry for her class at F & M. I enjoyed them very much.

Selected poetry of Katie

I wish we could be like this all day.
Kiss upon
Kiss upon
Kiss upon
Kiss
And forty more to fill the void
Of the seconds we spend apart.
Hide behind that door again.
Grab me like a savage and kiss me until I can’t breathe.
Make my body limp again.
No one’s looking.
No one’s listening.
I’ll tell you that I need you,
You’ll tell me just the same.
We’ll lay enfolded in each other’s arms thinking
“What they don’t know won’t kill them.”

(and)

My heart flutters from one extreme to another,
Leaving me as fragile as a butterfly,
Sending my mind in a spin, my soul in a sling.

Late night wanderings...

Ok, I was asleep but I think I was sleepwalking again. My light was off and the door was closed when I went to sleep and just now I found myself sitting on my bed, facing the wall. ????!!!???? I turned around and the door was wide open and my light was on. The package I was planning on mailing to Tami and the baby was on top of my silver jewerly boxes. I would never sit a big box like that on top of them. It's so strange. OK, well...I'm off to bed again. I really hope I don't walk all over the house when I do this crap. It's only getting worse too. I never did this when I was younger. CRAPOLA! I'll just blame it on my parents...they seem like good scape goats. Mwahahaha. Hi Mom!
